Project City Center Strike is over

Wednesday, June 11th, 2008

Project City Center was under scrutiny because of its safety record. The BTC (Building Trade Council) was alerted due to the walk-off of City Center Workers and the 6th death at that job site.

The Cosmopolitan Workers were also on strike, which is also overseen by the Perini Building Company, but less than 24 hours after it started, work on the projects will resume Wednesday morning.

Perini will have to follow some guidelines of the Center for Construction Research and Training, like on-site OSHA Training and others.

MGM Mirage Project City Center

Monday, November 20th, 2006

City Center is a 76 Acre mixed gaming, condo and shopping experience.  The City Center is being developed by MGM Mirage on the same land the as the Boardwalk, which is between the Mirage and The Bellagio.  The plans call for 2,800 luxury condominimums, a 4,000 luxury hotel and casino and a 400 room hotel without gaming.  The over all design is going to look like an urban environment that is slated to cost over $7billion.

There are many realtors looking for your business.  This could be a good opportunity for an investment on the south end of the strip, if you are willing to get in early.  With every investment there is a risk and when Vegas reaches the law of diminishing returns is anyones guess.  Las Vegas took a pretty sizable hit with 9/11 and has rebounded and is better than ever.

Vegas always sheds its skin and this is just another notch in the belt.  I am looking forward to seeing the final results, but I do miss the old Vegas and the low cost hotel casinos.
