A Las Vegas taxi driver found $221,510 while cleaning and vacuuming out his van last month.
Adam Woldemarim, the driver, discovered the cash stuffed in a soft laptop case that was left between the seats of the Virgin Valley Cab vehicle. Woldemarim turned it in, then was lucky enough to be rewarded with $2,000, about a 1% tip for his services. Well one way to look at it is; Adam must of been real glad his wife made him read these vacuum reviews, which in turn made him clean his van in time, before a client scored the cash!
The winner had just won big at the Wynn and forgotten the cash in the case on the way to the airport. All good deeds go rewarded in this case!
The Imperial Palace name change marks a new beginning for the hotel which has been a part of Las Vegas since the 1950s. From 1959 to 1979, the hotel was called the Flamingo Capri.
Construction is already under way at the soon-to-be Quad, and the hotel’s casino is perhaps the most visible evidence of the changes to come.
The name “Quad” might seem a little odd at first, but in its essence means “gathering place.” The casino is getting a revamp and expanding, and the hotel’s dining area will be getting a complete makeover. Other makeovers and updates will be released further into development.
Anybody who has been to Vegas knows the feeling of waking up in the morning with a hangover. One doctor has taken advantage of this “next morning” tradition of feeling sick to turn a profit. Dr. Jason Burke, a board-certified anesthesiologist has started a medical practice on wheels called “Hangover Heaven”.
Hangover Heaven is a bus service that will arrive at the caller’s hotel and offer two services to aid you in overcoming your hangover. A basic package for $90 includes an IV of saline solution, B vitamins and vitamin C. A premium package, $150, includes two bags of saline solution. For an extra fee, Burke will even bring treatment to a tourist’s hotel room. While this medical practice is just starting there are still many concerns.
Some concerns include not taking a full medical history or maybe having an allergic reaction to the medicine that Burke offers. Dr Burke addressing these concerns says, “I’m not a cowboy. I’m not going to grab someone off the street…without knowing their medical history. If they do have something that might be complicated, I’ll refer them to an emergency room or tailor their treatment to avoid anything that might cause problems.” Burke even has the Hangover Heaven bus equipped with a hospital-style “crash cart” in case of a severe medical emergency. While the practice is still relatively new the Hangover Heaven bus is estimated to be extremely successful.
The D Hotel, formerly Fitzgeralds, will open in Fall 2012. The name itself is a bet on a downtown resurgence (this is what the D stands for). This is one of the few openings in the downtown area in a long time, but efforts are being made to renovate the area and bring life back to a once-thriving section of Las Vegas. MGM Resorts International is planning to string up zip lines between the Luxor and Excalibur.
There’s no tentative timeline for the new attraction, which will involve three lines including one connected to the apex of the Luxor’s pyramid. MGM representatives say it could be a unique alternative to simply walking between the casinos, and serve as a tamer thrill ride than bungee jumping.
The idea follows the successful installation of a zip line attraction at The Fremont Street Experience on the north end of the strip, and more news will be posted here as it becomes available. Thanks to Gizmodo.com for the information.

In a bit of unfortunate Vegas news today, Clark County judge has sentenced boxer Floyd Mayweather to 90 days in jail following his arrest for domestic violence, brought against him by his on-again, off-again girlfriend. With the threat of having his own children, who witnessed the apparent incident, testifying against him, the world boxing champion agreed to the sentence.
Before the show, Kevin joined the famed dancers backstage for a behind the scenes look and tweeted photos of himself and the crew (see above).
Described as an audio-visual story of inspiration brought to life through the harmonization of sound and movement, “MÜS.I.C.” has been well-received by critics and recently celebrated one year in residence.
