Mirage Volcano to be updated

Friday, February 8th, 2008

MGM/Mirage began the update to the Mirage Volcano. It was about time. It first erupted on November 22 1989 and was updated in 1996.

The company “Wet Design” the designers of the Bellagio fountains and others around the world are now undertaking the task of the Mirage Volcano. We love the previous designs of “Wet Design” and cannot wait until this is finished around November 2008.

When finished the Mirage Volcano will have new water effects, waterfalls and of course smoke and fake lava.
The Mirage Volcano is a must see attraction for the first-time Vegas Visitor, but the update will bring out the seasoned visitors for another look. I myself cannot wait to see what is in store.

MGM Mirage Project City Center

Monday, November 20th, 2006

City Center is a 76 Acre mixed gaming, condo and shopping experience.  The City Center is being developed by MGM Mirage on the same land the as the Boardwalk, which is between the Mirage and The Bellagio.  The plans call for 2,800 luxury condominimums, a 4,000 luxury hotel and casino and a 400 room hotel without gaming.  The over all design is going to look like an urban environment that is slated to cost over $7billion.

There are many realtors looking for your business.  This could be a good opportunity for an investment on the south end of the strip, if you are willing to get in early.  With every investment there is a risk and when Vegas reaches the law of diminishing returns is anyones guess.  Las Vegas took a pretty sizable hit with 9/11 and has rebounded and is better than ever.

Vegas always sheds its skin and this is just another notch in the belt.  I am looking forward to seeing the final results, but I do miss the old Vegas and the low cost hotel casinos.
