Texas Holdem Poker is Dead?

Wednesday, October 4th, 2006

Will large Poker tournaments be a thing of the past?  Probably not, but it sure will lose some of its ferver.  The Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006 will sure put a damper on some of the largest poker tournaments around.  Two of the biggest tournament providers Harrah’s and MGM Mirage (home of some events for the World Poker Tour) might have to fill the poker rooms with something else.  About half of the entrants to this years World Series of Poker held by Harrahs qualified on the net. www.partypoker.com/ owned by the Europe company Partygaming will pull the plug on American betting and the publicly traded European gaming sites have been losing shares left and right.

owned by the Europe company Partygaming will pull the plug on American betting and the publicly traded European gaming sites have been losing shares left and right. Online betting rooms will probably go undergound, just like everything else that has been banned on the Internet, but I doubt we have heard the last of this news.
