New York-New York Hotel and Casino

NYNY is a Las Vegas Property that should not be missed. One of the few themed properties left in Vegas it is a must see if you are casino hopping. The Design recreates the New York skyline and includes a replica of the Statue of Liberty and the Empire State Building. Manhattan Express - a Coney Island-style roller coaster. ESPN Zone restaurant.

Rooms:Rooms are average in size and nicely finished in earthy tones. The rooms have the normal Vegas fare with a table and two chairs, king or queen beds and an armoire. The rooms are in good shape and the strip facing rooms have a great view. When checking in ask not to be in a room that is next to the roller coaster, it can be quite annoying after awhile. The Base rooms are called “Skyline” and they are the average rooms either with a king or two queen beds. The “Park Avenue“ rooms are the same as the “Skyline” rooms but better appointed. The “Broadway Deluxe” rooms are larger than the previous rooms but are appointed like the “Park Avenue” Rooms. We have stayed in the Broadway Deluxe and were very happy with the larger rooms, but how much time do we spend in the room anyway?

Overall:The NYNY Las Vegas has a pretty good vibe on Friday and Saturday nights, but you can run out of things to do if you are there too long. The Roller Coaster is a lot of fun and they give away the rides if you want to go more than once. We rode it at night thinking it would be cool to see the strip from the Coaster, it was cool but everything went by so quick.

Sports Book VERY SMALL! It is located near the north/center entrance right next to the bathrooms and if you are on a cel phone you will have to scurry by before they yell at you to get off the phone. This is a pinch point of the flow of traffic in the casino.

Special Ammenities

Restaurants:
America: A great 24 hour coffee shop. It has a huge mural of the United States. The menu items are by region, we like the Philly Cheese Steak and the Georgia pulled pork.
Chin Chin: This a fine Chinese restaurant and you get get filled up for under $20.00, They also have a breakfast buffet
ESPN Zone: This is the Sports Book restaurant it is a little pricey for finger food and beer. There are two more sections: The Studio Grill section, is the quiet section and the Screening Room is where all the TV’s reside
Gallagher's Steak House: Every Hotel Casino has one now, an upscale Steak House. This place charges $30.00 for a steak and more for the rest of the meal. We had a good steak here but we were turned off because of the price. We were expecting more for the price we paid.
Gonzalez y Gonzalez: We can’t say any more than eat here!. We had a good experience and good food.
Greenberg and Sons Deli: An authentic New York-style deli. Huge sandwiches, great food, this place will fill you up and the prices are great, around $9.00 for a sandwich / meal
Il Fornaio: If you like Italian Food, this place is it. All of our meal was prepared perfectly, no complaints at all. The pricing is moderately high, but it was worth it
Nine Fine Irishmen: An Irish pub that caters to the party atmosphere. This place is usually hopping on the weekends, with live music and storytelling similar to the piano bar at Harrah’s. The prices are a bit high but you are paying for atmosphere. They are also open for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
